Eclipse Bracket Assembly
Moving next to the eclipse bracket, which holds four concentric rotating assemblies (from outside in): lunar node position, lunar apsides position, sun position, and moon position. The moon position is a solid stainless rod, but all others are stainless tubes with brass bushings on both ends. Four rods come into the bracket from the calculation module below and each transfers its motion to one of the assemblies via a pair of bevels gears. The diagonal screw near the rear (lower left) adjusts friction on the lunar assembly to ensure the calculation module mechanics stay properly tensioned.
