Tuner Assembly
Next came the tuner assembly, which is fundamentally a dovetail slider with a pair of rollers mounted on it. As the lead screw rotates the rollers move up and down, guided and supported by the dovetail, changing the effective spring pivot point and thus the pendulum length. This is a bilateral dovetail with no inherent adjustment and thus little margin for error. I was extremely pleased how it turned out, the dovetail slides smoothly but with no detectable play. Note that it requires an upward force to preload the lead-screw, in the images below this is a side-mounted spring but this was later changed to a spring at the bottom of the lead-screw.
