Case Fittings
A fairly nerve wracking event came next, drilling the holes in the case for the two motor drives, weight rod, and pendulum sensor. These were delayed to be able to verify that the cables and rods that descend to them from high above successfully dodged all the whipple-tree hardware in the Calculation Module. A template was laser cut and then clamped in place, and once position was verified good the holes were drilled. The hardware includes brass bushings pressed into each hole, and universal joints for the motors. The motors are mounted on an aluminum bracket under the pedestal table (and interior to the case), mounted with rubber sheeting and O-rings on the bolts to provide vibration damping.
