Calculation Gears Done
It’s been a trudge but finally done with the lower bay gears for the calculation module and have mounted most of them on their arbors. The result is very satisfying and in turning the gears by hand I’m reminded of how slow these gears will be turning. With the 12 hour input, the fastest outputs are the half lunar month arbors for reduction and variation (about 28:1 reduction) and the slowest is nodal precession (about 16,000:1). The motion is very smooth and I’m excited to start doing something other than cutting spur gears.
