First Calculation Gears
First for the calculation gears are those with pinions small enough that they have to be machined integral to the arbor. There are three: Arbors A, B, and O. The first two have 11T M0.4 pinions, and O has a 10T M0.4. The strategy is to machine one side of the arbor only, just removing clearance material from the back side. Move to the mill, cut the teeth, then move back to the lathe to cut the remaining profile.
