Inclined Scotch Yoke
By Spencer Connor
A variant of the scotch yoke, by inclining the yoke a secondary signal gets added. At an incline angle of 0 it is simply a normal scotch yoke, but as the incline angle is increased the cosine term begins to dominate. Mathematically, the gain of the cosine portion goes to infinite as the incline angle approaches 90 degrees, but practically that means the leverage goes to 0 and the mechanism will bind at high incline angle.
